ORE Lighting
ORE is an Australian-owned and operated decorative lighting brand built around one idea: made from the elemental, built to last. Stone, travertine, alabaster, marble, glass, plaster, concrete, rattan, silk, brass and recycled cardboard, shaped into pendants, wall lights and downlights that are minimal in form and rich in character.
Solstice Lighting represents ORE in Melbourne and across Australia. We'll arrange samples of anything you're considering, and every ORE fitting we list is available to specify and order through us.
Why we like ORE
A lot of decorative lighting competes with the room. ORE's pieces are designed to do the opposite: to quietly enhance architecture and natural texture rather than shout over it. The materials are the design. A travertine wall light shows the stone's own banding and pitting, a hand-blown glass pendant carries the maker's irregularities, and a plaster downlight takes paint like the ceiling around it.
Materials are chosen to age gracefully, with finishes that don't need replacing, and many pieces are hand-finished in small batches. Most of the range is made from recyclable or low-impact sources. For a designer or builder that means fewer finish failures, and pieces that still look right years after handover.
By the element
ORE organises its range by material rather than by product type, which is a genuinely useful way to specify. If a scheme calls for stone, or soft plaster, or warm timber and rattan, you can start there and find every pendant, wall light and downlight in that language:
- Stone, travertine, alabaster and marble - natural-stone wall sconces, halo and up/down wall lights, travertine and alabaster pendants, and marble sconces in Bulgari, Calacatta, Verde Guatemala and Taj Mahal.
- Glass - hand-blown and bubble-blown pendants and sconces in clear, opal and smoke, with brass or black fittings.
- Plaster and ceramic - ribbed, curved and halo plaster wall lights, plaster pendants and surface or trimless downlights, paintable on site.
- Concrete and cement - sculptural concrete pendants and indoor/outdoor wall lights.
- Rattan and silk - woven rattan pendants and soft, silk-finish shades.
- Brass and aluminium - solid brass and powder-coated metal downlights, wall washers and pendants.
- Recycled cardboard - layered, sculptural pendants with a warm, timber-like glow.

Specifying ORE through Solstice
Most ORE pieces are a considered feature rather than a commodity fitting, so lead times and finishes are worth confirming early. Tell us the scheme, the room and the material you're working towards, and we'll put together a shortlist, supply spec sheets with dimensions and lamp details, and confirm availability before it goes in a schedule. ORE fittings generally take standard replaceable lamps (GU10, E27, E14, G9, GX53), so the light source is serviceable for the life of the fitting.
